To pick a tattoo artist is, literally, to put your skin in someone's hands.
Clients put their faith in Mo Richard, of Jackalope Tattoo, to leave permanent, distinctive, and often deeply meaningful pieces on their bodies. Mo was not one to disappoint.
Richard, who died suddenly this past Sunday, left behind many close friends and an even longer list of fans. As Richard's sister Katie Rockvam noted, Richard's years of work as a tattooist means her memory lives on through the hundreds of tattoos she created, little (or large) reminders of Mo which will continue walking around the Twin Cities.
Fortunately for her fans, Richard was as prolific on Instagram as she was at Jackalope's studio. City Pages (with permission from Richard's widow, Sam Richard) has collected some of the most memorable pieces Richard produced through the years.
From the cheesy to the creepy, from client's wildest imaginations to images from the natural world, Richard's pieces are beautiful, soulful, and memorable. Which means, according to those who knew her best, they're just like the artist who made them.
