First of all, we recognize that defining "dive bar" is no easy task, so we developed a set of criteria to help us get it straight. Does the joint have windows? Cheap drinks? Greasy food, if it has food at all? And greasy customers? As far as Liquor Lyle's goes, the answers are no, yes, yes (greasy but good), and yes (often greasy but cute). Lyle's has a little something for everyone: cheap beers in addition to good crafts on tap, solid food, bar games, a capable jukebox, and even, if you're lucky enough to be there at the right time, free chicken wings. In fact, the only things the six-decade-old bar lacks is decent ventilation and air conditioning. But, after all, these are dives we're talking about. Want ventilation? Expect to pay more than the $2 Lyle's asks for one of its infamous "mystery beers."
