Not many girls can say they had their prom dresses handmade and tailored to their exact desires by an honest-to-goodness fashion designer. Ten lucky girls from the Twin Cities wear that honor. Last year, local designer Emma Berg brought her talent beyond the runway to the high school dance floor for a group of young women from the Boys and Girls Club, working with them on their one-of-a-kind prom dresses and mentoring them. The collaboration culminated in Berg's I AM EVERYTHING fashion show at the Ritz Theater, where local luminaries, family members, and the community watched them debut their prom dresses on the runway. There wasn't a dry eye in the house by the end of the night. We're hoping fashion and inspiration stitched together like this becomes a trend in the Twin Cities.
