Milkweed Books

The Open Book building is a testament to the power of local business collaboration. Inside the space, you’ll find that it’s a hub for all things literary. There’s a performance hall that hosts readings, a writing school (the Loft Literary Center), an award-winning publishing house (Milkweed), a store/gallery (Minnesota Center for Book Arts), a coffee shop, and the newest tenant, Milkweed Books. The bookshop is small, but mighty, with a curated collection featuring fiction, poetry, nonfiction, and young-adult selections from Milkweed and other small presses. In the coming years, the nonprofit organization hopes to create a monthly service where books will be delivered via bike. But in the meantime, the Milkweed Books is a welcome addition to a bustling, literary neighborhood.
