After a gut-busting feast of collards, macaroni and cheese, smoked pork shoulder, and flaky biscuits dripping in sorghum butter, there’s only one logical decision at Revival: a slice of pie the size of your foot.

Visually, the pies are nothing short of wizardry. To gaze upon one, fresh from the oven, is like catching the eye of a beautiful woman walking down the street. They make you sigh.

The lemon meringue is sunshine yellow with waves of marshmallowy meringue that crest like the tide. The peaks are burnished toasty brown, for a subtle hint of caramel.

Beneath, the lemony custard is sweetened with a house-made condensed milk, ensuring quality control. Then, in keeping with a Southerner’s penchant for sugar, the graham cracker crust is layered with brown sugar and sweet butter.
